- 4 salmon fillets
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp water
- 2 garlic cloves grated
- 1/2 tsp fresh ginger grated
- 1 tsp lime juice
- 1/2 tsp lime zest
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes optional
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter

Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin side down if they have skin. Cook for about 4-5 minutes per side. Adjust the time based on the thickness of your fillets.
While the salmon are searing, combine the brown sugar, soy sauce, water, lime juice, lime zest, garlic, and ginger in a mixing bowl. Whisk well until thoroughly combined.
Lower the heat and add the glaze to the pan. Continually baste the salmon fillets with the glaze and let it cook for an additional 2 minutes until the glaze thickens.
