Ingredients
  

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 garlic cloves grated
  • 1/2 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • 1/2 tsp lime zest
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter

Instructions
 

  • Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides of the salmon with salt, pepper and smoked paprika.
  • Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin side down if they have skin. Cook for about 4-5 minutes per side. Adjust the time based on the thickness of your fillets.
  • While the salmon are searing, combine the brown sugar, soy sauce, water, lime juice, lime zest, garlic, and ginger in a mixing bowl. Whisk well until thoroughly combined.
  • Lower the heat and add the glaze to the pan. Continually baste the salmon fillets with the glaze and let it cook for an additional 2 minutes until the glaze thickens.
