Homemade Strawberry Jam

This is the best homemade strawberry jam that you will ever have. It is packed with fresh juicy strawberries and a hint of bright lemon flavor. Strawberry jam is the best way to enjoy fresh seasonal strawberries and it is so easy to make. You will never buy store bought strawberry jam again and I promise that you will be eating this straight from the jar.

How to Make Homemade Strawberry Jam

Step 1: Wash and dice fresh strawberries.

Step 2: Add diced strawberries, sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest to a saucepan. Bring everything to a boil and simmer over medium heat until the mixture reduces and thickens. Make sure to stir constantly. You can mash strawberries with a potato masher/muddler or keep some strawberry chunks. The consistency is entirely your preference.

Step 3: Transfer jam to an airtight container and allow it cool at room temperature.

Ingredients

1 pound strawberries

3/4 cup granulated sugar

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1/4 cup chia seeds

Instructions

  1. Clean and dice fresh strawberries. Add them to a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add sugar, lemon juice, lemon zest and chia seeds.
  3. Allow mixture to come to a boil and consistently stir for 15-20 minutes until mixture reduces and thickens. Mash strawberries to a desired consistency or keep strawberry chunks to your liking.
  4. Transfer to an airtight container and allow it to cool completely before serving.
