Tips and Suggestions

Choosing the Right Pineapple

When choosing your pineapple, look for one that is ripe but not overripe. Overripe pineapples can be mushy and have a fermented taste that can ruin your salsa. A ripe pineapple should be fragrant, have a golden-yellow color, and give slightly when gently squeezed.

Prepping your Ingredients

When prepping your ingredients, make sure to finely chop your red onion, red pepper, cilantro, and jalapeño pepper. This will ensure that all the flavors are evenly distributed throughout your salsa.

Adjusting Seasoning

If you find that your salsa is too sweet or too spicy, you can adjust the seasoning to your taste. Add more lime juice if you want a tangier flavor or more salt if you want a saltier taste. If you want a spicier salsa, leave the seeds and membranes in your jalapeño pepper.
